What if…

Finish the sentence. Big or small, every idea for Tiverton is welcome, and we’ll tell you what we decide.

A sentence is enough

  • About 3 minutes
  • No name needed

Need a nudge? Think about

  • the town centre
  • parks and places
  • getting together
  • young people
  • how the Council works
  1. You tell us

A sentence is enough. You don’t need costs, drawings or permission.

  2. We read it

The Council’s Strategic Projects team reads every idea within four weeks.

  3. We tell you what we decide

We publish every decision and why. Ideas we take forward become projects.

Ideas people have shared

38 ideas so far. Here are a few we’ve decided on, and why.

  • Later buses from the city

Buses back home after an evening out in the city.

    For another organisation

Bus services are run by the bus companies, so we have passed the idea to them.

  • A youth forum

A way for young people to have a say in what happens here.

    Under consultation

It is one of the projects we are asking about in this consultation.

  • A splash park for the hot days

A safe place for children to play in water in the summer.

    Taken forward

It fits our plans for parks and open spaces, and it is now on the projects list as the splash park at the recreation ground.

Questions about ideas

Can I share more than one idea?

Yes. Send each one on its own, so each can be decided on its own.

What if someone has already suggested it?

Send it anyway. We join matching ideas together, and you can still follow the decision with your own link.

Will my name be published?

No. We publish a short title for your idea, in our own words, and the decision. Never your name or how to contact you. Our privacy notice says more.

I am under 13. Can I share an idea?

Yes. Ask a parent or carer to send it for you, with their email address.

Is this the same as the survey on the draft plan?

No. The survey asks what you think of the plan’s vision and priorities. Ideas are suggestions for things to do. You are welcome to do both.

Reporting a problem?

To report a problem, such as a pothole, a broken streetlight or an overflowing bin, contact Devon County Council or Mid Devon District Council. To comment on a planning application, go to Mid Devon District Council. For anything else, contact us.
